Getting Difficult Questions Answered

In Seminary, we teach a three-step process to help students get answers to difficult questions.

That process is to first act in faith--meaning to ask ourselves what do we already know about this question or what faith-filled steps could we take?

The next step is to examine concepts and questions with an eternal perspective--meaning, ask ourselves how can we try to see this through God’s eyes, or ponder: What do we know about God’s plan that could help with this question?
The final step is to seek further understanding through divinely appointed sources. Going to the Gospel Library App is us seeking a divine source. Going to a trusted friend, bishop, or church leader is also seeking a divine source. At times, my students go to Google or to sources that don’t help, that are not divine sources.

I know this three-step process works, as I’ve seen my students do it and gain understanding related to very difficult questions. If you have difficult questions about the gospel that you need answered, be prayerful and give this process a try.
