Dec. 2022: Activity Boys gather to build a sled
On December 14, the Activity Boys gathered at the church for their last activity of the year. They assembled a sled from scrap material, including some carpet-friendly runners. When the sled was built and decorated, each of the boys took a turn being pulled down the hallway.
Sept. 2022: Primary Activity Groups party; Primary program coming soon
Primary activities have been in full swing with our activity groups meeting for a party this month! Our activity kids got to walk the covenant path, show their Articles of Faith knowledge, and keep on target with their goals! We have such great kids in the ward, and it was fun to see so many of them join us! Thanks to all of our activity leaders and all who helped make this such a fun event!
Save the date for our Primary program coming up on October 30. We will keep you posted about practice dates and times. Also be ready for their parts, which will be coming soon! They have learned a lot this year, and we are excited to share it with you all!

June 2022 Primary day camp is a big hit
By Becky Allen, Primary President
We have had a fun few months in Primary! The children sang “My Heavenly Father Loves Me” on Easter, and they did a fantastic job! The children also sang for Mother’s Day, and it was an absolute treat to hear and see them!
In June, the Primary Activity Kids had their yearly stake activity day camp, and it was a big hit. The theme was “building you,” and the kids learned things that would help them throughout their lives, including: first aid, communications etiquette, articles of faith among us, team building, Lego STEM activities, drawing, service (painting rocks to hide and to bring color to our world), water team activities, and Lego building. The event included a trading post that the kids saved up tickets for and then “bought” fun items to take home.
We are so grateful for our stake Primary leaders for all the hard work they put into bringing us the Activity Kids day camp. I have heard many fun experiences from the kids, who were hoping for even more days of fun! We are looking forward to a combined event for the Activity Kids in August (more info. coming soon) and more opportunities to hear them sing in church with the Primary program coming this fall. Thanks to all of our Primary kids for the examples they are to us!

Primary Roundup 2021
By Becky Allen, Primary President
The time since I was called as Primary president has been quite the roller-coaster ride. For almost an entire year, Primary had been on hiatus because of COVID. During that time, the responsibility for all gospel learning was completely in the hands of our own individual families. As Primary leaders, we could hold a quick Zoom Primary singing time and lesson, drop off a little note or treat, or have driveby Primary surprises––including a driveby water-gun fight hosted by the previous Primary presidency in September 2020 right before I was called. But we as Primary leaders knew the support that we could give had to change during that time. The need became more individual.
I am reminded of Joy Jones' guidance to all parents and teachers in her talk called "Essential Conversations":
“Have you ever wondered why we call Primary 'primary'? While the name refers to spiritual learning children receive in their earliest years, to me it is also a reminder of a powerful truth. To our Heavenly Father, children have never been secondary––they have always been 'primary.'”
I find it interesting that we got this reminder just as we were about to return to Primary the very next week. I want to thank all of you who jumped in with both feet and started helping out even though it was not your calling. I feel that you too remembered how important Primary was.
We have been blessed to be able to enjoy singing time again at the church, with Sheal Merrill as chorister and Mazie Franklin playing the piano. In November, we also finally returned to having a Primary program and kept it simple in case COVID tried to take over again. All the kids sang in the program, and we had our oldest class share their talks they had already given in Primary.
We have had some wonderful Primary activities this year including a mother/daughter night, lots of crafting, and a campfire and s’mores night for the boys. We went from two groups each for boys and girls activity groups down to one group in each as we had a few families move away this year.
I'm so grateful that we were able to come back to the church building and most especially to Primary this year.
