Ugly Sweater Christmas Party
On Friday, December 16, many Mount Fagan Ward members walked the "red carpet" at our annual Christmas party, hoping their apparel would win the dubious honor of being named "ugliest sweater."
At the Ugly Sweater Christmas Party, a packed cultural hall of ward members had just finished a sit-down Christmas dinner (complete with ALL the trimmings) when the ugly sweater contest winners were named. The top 3 each received a Crumbl Cookies gift card:
-- Sean Sullivan--1st place (thanks to a sweater featuring a life-size, pinned photo of Brother Mack's face--far left in photo above)
-- Sofia Allen--2nd place
-- The Arnolds--3rd place
Other winners in various subcategories included Parker Schagel, the Washburns, and Amanda Leavitt, among others.

Fire and Ice Community Trunk or Treat
On Friday, October 28, the Mount Fagan Ward held its annual community trunk or treat. This year it was called the Fire and Ice Trunk or Treat, as homemade ice cream and chili contests were held. The Giffords and McPhails tied for best chili. And the Giffords won the contest for best ice cream!
Mt. Fagan Ward Priesthood Commemoration Campout
The Mt. Fagan Ward Priesthood Commemoration Campout was held August 26-27 at Camp Zion on Mount Lemmon.
We spent Friday evening playing games, enjoying the fire, and eating s'mores. Fortunately, there was no rain.
Saturday morning the Elder's Quorum cooked bacon, eggs, and hash browns for breakfast burritos for everyone. Later, we went rappelling at Windy Point on Mount Lemmon and had a great time. This was the first opportunity for many to try rappelling. The newcomers and others overcame fears and learned they could do hard things.

July 4th, 2022 church/community activity is a blast
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints held a 4th of July community breakfast. The young men began the event with raising the flag and the pledge of allegiance. An amazing quartet (Robby Allen, David Hatch, Rob Allen, and Stephen Smith) sang “The Star Spangled Banner,” followed by loud applause.
Many wards came together to help with food and activities. The kids enjoyed water activities, and a large Slip N Slide was a big hit. The Corona De Tucson Fire Department came and cooled everyone off, and the kids loved getting soaked!
The kitchen volunteers stayed busy, cooking and serving pancakes and fruit to about 500 people.

July 4, 2021 Community Pancake Breakfast
On July 4, 2021, the Elders Quorum hosted a Community Pancake Breakfast, which was a big feat given the still-crazy Covid problems. We invited the community to the event, which included the local fire department spraying the kids and adults.
The breakfast was well attended, with about 200 people present. Pancakes were cooked and served by the Elders Quorum presidency, and we even had the health inspector there to check to make sure we were doing everything by the book. It was a great time for all who showed up.
