Ward Family History and Temple Activities - 2023 startup plan
A January Family History Activity report on the Mount Fagan Ward shows 75 members logging in to FamilySearch during January, with 19 individuals (including 6 youth) submitting to or participating in family history activities.
Sister Robertson and Sister Powell have been meeting with ward members during the second hour to provide 1-on-1 family search help. Interest sign-ups in Sunday School and Relief Society gave them a pool of about 10 interested individuals. Several individuals expressed interest in more than one session, so this list will keep them busy for another month at least.
Family History consultants are also available to meet during the week to help the rest of us get started, unstuck, or to answer questions.
Brother and Sister Harris also started a temple preparation class on Sundays in late January. The first of six lessons was taught to three individuals preparing to enter the temple for endowments and a temple sealing. We expect to start up these classes again at the end of March with lessons alternating between the Harris' and our ward family history consultants.
Our youth are busy planning some good temple and family history activities as well this year. The Teachers quorum had a family history Wednesday night activity followed by a temple trip in January and have set a quorum goal to attend the temple about every other month; their next trip scheduled is scheduled for March 8. Additionally, the oldest young womens class has a temple trip scheduled for March 25. Meanwhile, the Priests have a temple trip scheduled for March 15. I "coined" Amber Hancock with a Tucson temple coin after she shared her experience with family history during our youth kickoff this year.
Thank you for all you do to help with temple and family history in our ward.
