An absolutely rad week -- May 2023 update
i
Our week was absolutely rad, and I have a couple of awesome things to share!!
First off, two of our friends got baptized!! Sandra and Camila are so awesome, and so faithful!! I want to tell y'all about both of them!
Sandra is the mom of a family of members, the last to be baptized! The rest of her family was baptized about six years ago, but her heart was way too hard back then to be able to listen to the Spirit. But now, she has repented, and y'all, you can SEE IT!! She is so much happier now than when we first met her, and she's such a joyful person!! She's got the goal to go to the temple and y'all, I'll be fighting the next mission president to let me into the temple for that one!!
Elder Meza did both of the baptisms, and we forgot to turn off the water. So, when he and Sandra entered the water, it started to flow into the rest of the church building. So Camila and I used giant squeegies to keep the water back! It was fun :)
Spiritual thought for y'all:
2 Nephi 31:20 says, Press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a PERFECT BRIGHTNESS OF HOPE...
Y'all, what do we need to do to have hope? What is hope? In the talk I sent [some of] y'all last week about the Promised Blessings of the Lord, Elder Condie talked about how Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were all able to press forward in all things, because they trusted in the promises of the Lord. They saw them from afar off.
Y'all, if we want to have hope in our lives, we need to know exactly what it is that the Lord has promised to us! If we can know His promises, and trust that He has all power to complete them, then we can have hope!! We can see what He has promised from afar off!! But that requires that we look for them! When we read the scriptures, we can find the Lord's "general" promises. There's another tool that lists out your promised blessings pretty clearly: your patriarchal blessing!! Y'all, read your patriarchal blessing!! If you don't have it yet, get it!! Know what it is that the Lord has in store for you!! Trust that He will complete his words!! HAVE HOPE IN CHRIST!!! That will make your life so so SO much happier!!
I love you all so much!! Thank you for your prayers and for writing to me!! It makes me happy to hear from y'all! Remember that I'm praying for you!
Sending all sorts of different varieties of happy feelings your way.
